Hired the TENS machine and was a bit sceptical about how it would actually help manage pain, but it was truly great!
The pulses didn't hurt at all it was more of a vibration which was so good! I got to 5cm dilated with just using the TENS machine, the highest setting I used was 3 bars power and that was after 4hrs of consistent (min on min off) contractions.
The BOOST button and contraction timer was so good to keep you focused on breathing out the contraction and keeping an eye on the progress of your contractions.

Would highly reccomend to someone who would like to avoid medicated pain relief as long as possible. Unfortunately we had to go in for an emergency C-section due to cord being around bubs neck. But my midwife's said the TENS machine was very beneficial in my labouring experience and they were surprised by how well I coped with the contractions when they found I was 5cm dilated in theatre!

I also ended up booking a pregnancy massage as we went past due date. It was extremely relaxing and might have done the trick as. I went into labour not long after.

To be honest, I was a little skeptical and thought it might not work for me, however I am so glad to be proven wrong.
I had an unplanned induction and having the TENS machine made a great difference for the first few hours. It provided real pain relief/distraction and I was able to avoid an epidural for a few hours and continue to walk around the ward, labour with my support partner, etc.

Eventually I did request an epidural as my labour was not progressing but I would recommend this to anyone as it truly made a difference and allowed me to have the labour that I wanted.

I had considered using a TENS for labour but only made the decision one week before giving birth. It was the best decision - my goal was to have an unmedicated birth and it really helped me during contractions and was easy to use. The hire process was so easy and I was able to pick it up within 24 hours. Great tool for labour and would use it again!

I decided to hire a tens for my second child after really struggling through labour with my first and I am SO glad I did. I made it to the hospital too late for an epidural and having the tens was a lifesaver and the one thing that got me through! If I ever have another baby I wouldn’t hesitate to hire again
